Will Hot Weather Ever Get Here?

This photo was taken at a park here in Michigan last April 23! Hard to believe. My four year old heaved a big sigh and said to me, “Mom, hot weather will never get here again!” It sure feels that way.

A few days ago, we were all excited upon finding a glimmer of hope that spring was coming.

It was short-lived.

I shouldn’t complain, though. Our snow is all gone today, while lots of places are still digging out! (I’m so sorry if you fall into that unfortunate group!) And we did make some fun memories this winter.

My four year old discovered that this winter was ideal for growing huge icicles, which she loves to taste. This winter we worked (again) on not eating the snow in the yard.

My two year old got to pretend she was an intrepid arctic explorer.

That was all well and good until she decided she had to try out the ice-coated slide. Her sister was in a panic. “Nooooo, sister!!! You can’t do it!! You’re gonna wreck yourself!!!!!!”

Meanwhile, our littlest usually couldn’t be part of the action. But she didn’t mind too much.

It has been a good winter to hibernate. Next year, she’ll be raring to go along with her two older sisters. I know…watch out, Mom, watch out!
